Job Description
The Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University seeks a team-oriented individual for the Digital Communications Specialist role. As part of the marketing and communications team at ASU Law, this position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the development and deployment of social media strategies; the curation of content for social media and website use; editing and creating content; building and execution of email marketing campaigns, including scheduling and measuring performance; and manages multiple email campaigns in coordination with project leads.
One overarching goal of the marketing and communications team is to bridge the gap between the law school and the public by engaging internal and external stakeholders in trending legal topics and their potential implications on society. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively, to consistently deliver high-quality workmanship on time and on budget. This role reports to the law school’s director of digital communications and is located at the Arizona State University downtown Phoenix campus.
Salary Range
$45,000 - $66,816 per year; DOE

Essential Duties
· Plans, develops, and writes creative, high-quality communications for graduate-level college audiences (e.g., faculty, staff, students, donors, prospective students, and the general public) using multiple digital and print communications mediums (e.g. email, print, web, social media).
· Creates email lists through CRM and ESP queries; manipulates files for segmented campaigns; and ensures accurate uploading and/or field mapping.
· Codes HTML templates, text files, and individual email campaigns based on graphic designer specification and Photoshop files that meet email industry standards.
· Ensures quality and accuracy of email campaigns by critically evaluating/verifying large contact lists, thoroughly testing and proofing of campaigns and complying with industry direct mail protocols to maintain a high email sending reputation.
· Reviews and analyzes research data and makes interpretations for application to email marketing campaigns.
· Helps maintain a social media and website content calendar. Attends events to conduct real-time social media promotion.
· Engages with marketing and communications representatives across ASU academic and business units to source content.
· Contributes to the development and execution of social media advertising strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment and two (2) years of related experience: OR, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Demonstrated experience in writing and editing online content.

· Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques used in effective digital marketing for web and email.
· Demonstrated knowledge in creating CRM/database queries and merging of complex data.
· Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, standards and practices of project management.
· Demonstrated knowledge of HTML and web content/management concepts, principles and practices.
· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of interactive media, tools, and technologies.
· Demonstrated knowledge of internet-based social networking formats, audiences, and usage standards.
· Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
· Evidence of effective communication with experience in writing and editing for interactive media.
· Experience in organization and attention to detail and accuracy.
· Experience in problem-solving and decision-making.
· Experience in handling multiple complex issues through use of good negotiation skills.
· Experience in working in an environment subject to quickly changing priorities and tight deadlines.
· Experience in developing effective social media campaigns.
· Demonstrated knowledge of online social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
· Demonstrated knowledge of Google Analytics Premium, Salesforce, Exact Target and Social Media Studio.
· Experience working in a higher education and/or executive environment.
Working Environment
· Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
· Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
· Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
· Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
· Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
· Use standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor and mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
