Job Description

Under the supervision and guidance of the Associate Director of Performance Marketing, the Digital Content Coordinator coordinates all phases of digital content creation from concept development through production for ASU digital marketing channels that support the strategic, performance and branding goals within the Enterprise Marketing Hub for Arizona State University.

 

As a member of the performance marketing team, the selected candidate will be responsible for curating and preparing best-in-class, customized and targeted digital content for distribution to digital channels including social media, email, apps and the web.

 

This role will support cross-channel content planning and audience journeys, working with creative, technical and channel leads to execute.

 

The digital content coordinator will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of what the audience is responding to by monitoring content performance and quickly making changes to optimize results as measured by program objectives.

 

The selected candidate will periodically support the content and users of the ASU Events system, reviewing events for style and accuracy, and assisting with platform support on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or closely related field and one year of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications · Experience in using written communication and copywriting skills. · Knowledge of AP style preferred. · Previous experience directly curating and repackaging multimedia content and distributing it through digital channels, including email. · Experience in creating and maintaining complex marketing calendars, journey maps and documented processes that account for a high use of audience segmentation. · Experience in using analytical thinking skills · Ability to translate complex data into actionable customer relationship management strategies. · Ability to think strategically and holistically and articulate how to best engage with key constituencies throughout the engagement lifecycle. · Ability to interpret a brand platform, design and content standards, strategic communication plans and marketing research and apply them to a creative execution in digital channels. · Demonstrated knowledge of digital content best practices and requirements. · Previous experience applying standard content testing practices (A/B, multivariate) and applying findings to optimize creative content. · Experience in using creative tools including Google Docs, Sheets and Slides and project management systems. · Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills. · Experience in using presentation skills. · Experience in being organized, self-motivated and adaptable to change. · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and experience successfully managing multiple, high-priority projects simultaneously with tight deadlines. · Experience in using attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties · Works with the project implementation team and product owners to understand themes and objectives for assignments, target audiences and desired outcomes in order to create on-brand, on-strategy, data-informed compelling creative work. · Responsible for ensuring compliance with project description specifications, editing grammar and punctuation, writing style, content accuracy and department requirements. · Actively participates in new idea generation, brainstorming concepts and making recommendations for creative ways to accomplish marketing goals. Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with team members, project managers, creative resources such as designers, video content producers and other constituencies. · Conceives and produces original optimized content including website, email, social media and app content to drive brand affinity and a reputation for excellence for ASU, and support program goals. · Understands the use of segments and personas as it applies to digital content creation. Develops a deep knowledge of ASU alumni segments and is able to effectively speak to, inspire and engage individuals to take action. · Builds and distributes emails through Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Edits copy, reads and proofs materials for accuracy, style and readability, recommending changes where necessary. Recommends process improvements. · Understands effective audience journeys and crafts variable content that delivers the right message, to the right person at the right time. Researches best practices and emerging trends. · Reviews marketing plans and applies them to the creation of digital content. Tracks performance on a daily basis and seeks methods to optimize the performance. · Tracks routine activities and reports progress through project management system, project reporting and provides updates in meeting and presentation formats. · May supervise the work of students. · Performs other duties as assigned.
