THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE

Major responsibilities include management and full accountability of student success initiatives across multiple academic partnerships and programs for Allied Health students. The Director of Academic Success interacts with internal and external stakeholders, healthcare faculty, professional staff, students, and other program personnel to enhance and facilitate the progression and graduation of students. The Director of Academic Success is an experienced leader with a track record for achieving challenging goals and managing others. This position directs efforts and assumes accountability to ensure the highest levels of student success and sustained persistence measures are achieved. Recent realignment with Allied Health and Nursing Academic Success Coach teams now gives the benefit for you to work alongside an experienced team focused on student support and successful external partnerships and launches. The Director has an operational mindset while leading and growing people successfully, taking initiative, and being able to adjust on the fly while remaining solution focused based on data results and analysis. This individual has high emotional intelligence with the ability to see big picture solutions and the granular view of the needs of our staff and students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the development and coordination of the strategic plan for academic success across allied health partnerships/programs in conjunction with the Executive Director of Academic Services.
  • Develop, coordinate and evaluate an assessment plan for academic success across allied health partnerships/programs.
  • Provide overall leadership necessary to ensure the successful persistence and graduation for multiple academic partners/programs.
  • Creates and facilitates strategies with the goal of achieving KPIs.
  • Assume responsibility for allied health program student persistence and retention strategies with achievement or over-achievement of budgeted outcomes.
  • Works with analytics team to develop tracking systems for P.A.C.E. program, graduate employment, and academic monitoring & measurement.
  • Maintain working knowledge of partnerships/program policies and practices as well as federal and state laws applicable academic success initiatives.
  • Work in collaboration with academic success team to ensure timely and accuracy of data in all required reports and dashboards.
  • Work with academic success team to positively and with consistency, coach, mentor and train team members in partnership with the Program Directors and/or Director of Allied Health Academic Services as well as Quality Assurance & Training teams.
  • Establish goals and expectations for nursing academic success team and administer performance reviews according to current practice monthly.
  • Collaborate with academic partners and academic success team to develop a plan for effective communication strategies at all levels.
  • Be visible at the individual sites and maintain an approved travel schedule.
  • Leads Allied Health advising group in Orbis initiatives.
  • Leads communication to both Orbis and partner leadership regarding student performance and expectations.
  • Leads new launch process for expansion sites and new partnerships.
  • Provides direction to the allied health advising leadership group with the goal of creating a high performing student success unit.
  • Collaborates with the student acquisition and support unit to ensure efficiency in communication and service.

QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies:

  • Experience leading student success or academic advising teams.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports.
  • Able to respond to inquiries or complaints at multiple levels.
  • High level written and oral communication skills to accurately present information persuasively, professionally and accurately to groups of people.
  • Strong and skillful management qualities.
  • Strong team building skills to foster collaboration with academic teams and partners.
  • Self-directed with the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities on a daily basis with entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Confidence, resilience, strong organizational skills, exceptional persistence, a high level of commitment, and the ability to guide and motivate others.
  • Working knowledge of database and software packages to enter, track, report, analyze and maintain student information.
  • Professional and problem-solving approach to academic issues.
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively with a positive attitude and high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work variable hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with student retention efforts in higher education.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience working in a start-up environment or product launch preferred.
  • Travel required is between 25% and 50% of time; must be able to travel overnight and on weekends.

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Masters Degree in higher education, counseling preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare or a complementary field preferred.
