Position Description
Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and the community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgment. This position is responsible for coordinating all components of clinical and community sites utilized by Gayle Greve Hunt Nursing School undergraduate programs. This will be accomplished by working closely with the Deans, program chair/director, course faculty, administrative staff, clinical affiliations, and students.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Maintain current and future clinical affiliations agreements.
  • Responsible for securing and renewing affiliation agreements between TTUHSCEP HSON and clinical affiliates.
  • Maintains records of clinical contracts and updates records as necessary.
  • Responsible for identifying, recruiting, and maintaining clinical placement opportunities for students in support of the established curriculum, success measures, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify new clinical site/affiliation agreements to support high-quality student learning experiences.
  • Oversee the cohort approach to clinical placements for undergraduate students.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with clinical sites and preceptors.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clinical sites and agencies.
  • Collaborate with Asst. Dean for the ABSN program and the Program Director for the MSN program to negotiate placement for nursing students in clinical sites, document preceptor qualifications as necessary, document student satisfaction with clinical sites, and document site satisfaction with TTUHSCEP HSON.
  • Maintain quality relationships with clinical site leaders to sustain affiliation agreements, seize strategic opportunities that are mutually beneficial, and help students achieve employment opportunities upon graduation.
  • Collect and analyze data related to clinical placement and in particular the efficacy of the cohort approach.
  • Maintains an updated database with specific compliance and training requirements for each clinical and community facility. Manages all clinical and site evaluations and manages the databases.
  • Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Demonstrate, display, and act according to TTUHSCEP values. (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in nursing OR business, leadership/management, or equivalent.
  • At least two years of work experience where the interface between academic organizations and healthcare organizations was a primary responsibility.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.
  • A nursing license is not required.
