The Director, Facilities leads and manages the team responsible for all aspects of BBIs facilities maintenance program, supporting approximately 1,200 corporate-owned restaurants, across all five brands. You will direct the facilities program to ensure our restaurants are operational while providing a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members.

You will drive the strategic plan, build, and follow the roadmap for the BBI Facilities department, while ensuring day-to-day execution of restaurant repairs and maintenance. This Director guides a team of internal Facilities Managers and external partners, ensuring a restaurant -first mindset is engrained in all actions to support positive guest and team member experiences. You will need to travel periodically for on-site visits, working collaboratively with Brand Leadership teams to address facility repair and maintenance opportunities.

Our restaurants are open 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and many holidays. As such, the Director, Facilities has established business context to understand emergency situations to act with a heightened level of commitment and urgency in ensuring critical facilities repair situations are addressed in a timely and thorough fashion.

You will be a central point of contact and escalation path for communication of the facilities program. This Director works directly with Brand Presidents to ensure Operational repair and maintenance needs are being met, in alignment with Brand strategies and the BBI capital budget.


This position will work primarily in the Tampa, Florida Restaurant Support Center (RSC) when not traveling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the team responsible for facilities maintenance of approximately 1,200 corporate-owned restaurant facilities, including kitchen areas, dining spaces, and external surroundings.
  • Develops and manages the enterprise facilities budget, controlling costs while ensuring high standards of maintenance and safety, in alignment with established capital allocations.
  • Reviews proposals and approves the process of projects and repairs to include contract negotiations, design, bidding, implementation, product purchasing and follow up of work awarded to qualified contractors.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for repairs, maintenance, and renovations.
  • Implements and manages a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to proactively address facility issues, mitigate costs, and minimize downtime.
  • Leads a team of facilities and maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Administers major repair and maintenance projects to ensure they are completed to BBI quality standards.
  • Develops and implements emergency response and crisis management plans to handle unforeseen facility-related issues.
  • Promotes and implements sustainable and eco-friendly practices, in accordance with BBIs ECG strategy
  • Measures and communicates performance metrics (including cost, quality, and service).
  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities for the facilities program, including ongoing assessment of providers (including cost, quality, and service).
  • Performs vendor management and contract management functions with facilities providers and vendors.
  • Assesses the market for new and evolving facilities equipment and technology; makes recommendations to enhance and evolve the facilities program.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in Facilities Management, preferably in the restaurant industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in People Leadership, as a manager or above.
  • 2+ years of experience managing in a support center function, such as a corporate HQ or main office.
  • Must have proven experience in budget management, cost control, and operational processes.
  • Must have advanced experience managing vendor relations and negotiating contracts.
  • Advanced proficiency in ServiceChannel, Corrigo, or other similar Service Management Platform.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
