Job Description:McDonalds is on an exciting journey to transform our enterprise data, analytics, and AI function - turning data into a winning advantage.
As the Director, Leadership and Development (L&D) for our Global Business Services (GBS), you will be part of this unprecedented transformation. With a long-standing commitment and investment in Learning and Development (L&D) and our Hamburger University brand combined, you will lead McDonalds through a key business transformation by upskilling our enterprise with critical skills. The primary focus will be on closing gaps for our data, analytics, and AI skillset with oversight to other key transformation related efforts.
The Director will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of the learning and development strategy, content, and programs for the GBS function globally. They will work cross-functionally to understand the current talent landscape and identify critical gaps and requirements for the new organization. They will ensure the curriculum and modalities meet rigorous expectations and are aligned to the strategic priorities of the business.
This role reports to the Sr. Director of Learning Strategy and Functional Development while closely partnering with the GBS leadership team. This role will have 1 direct report.
Responsibilities:
- Assess current state organization and identify skill gaps and development needs in the organization to develop an upskilling roadmap
- Collaborate with HR and business leaders to identify talent gaps, critical roles, requirement for the data and analytics organization
- Develop a L&D strategy for the GBS function and transformational upskilling of critical functions
- Build a multi-year plan that leverages blended learning approaches and channels, using the 70-20-10 learning model framework as a guide
- Build a detailed plan for how we upskill our talent at various roles/levels, empower growth, and create a learning culture within GBS and across the enterprise
- Build and execute a stakeholder management plan, partnering with key subject matter experts, learners, leaders, etc.
- Lead development, delivery, evaluation and of data, analytics, and AI capabilities and curriculum - ensuring value, quality, and business results
- Manage key external vendors and partner with key internal teams such as People, Finance, and Tech
- Thought leader on macro and industry trends to foster greater innovation and future-focus
- Travel will be limited and ad-hoc only
- Bachelors Degree required; MBA, Masters Degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years experience
- Experience in learning strategy, design, development, systems/technology
- Proven ability to prioritize and simplify the complex
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive talent strategy and decision-making
- Prior experience working in a data, analytics, or digital focused teams and general understanding of Data and AI activities is preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management (including managing cross-functionally and partnering with all levels of the organization)
- Strong business acumen and insight, with the ability to translate strategic business goals into appropriate development and talent programs that balance the evolving priorities of the organization
- Strong project management skills on complex and evolving work; must document and communicate project plans, monitor work in progress, and achieve project milestones/ results
- Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
- Experience in transformation-related work is a preferred
- Experience working cross-culturally with varied colleagues in a global environment
