We are seeking a Director, Nursing Services for Grand Canyon Universitys 16-month Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program that is scheduled to launch in May 2022 in Las Vegas. We've successfully launched ABSN programs for GCU in Phoenix and Tucson.

The Director, Nursing Services provides Administrative and Clinical Academic leadership as the ABSN site leader in developing, maintaining, evaluating, and collaborating with the GCU Nursing Academic team. The primary responsibilities for this position include operational leadership for delivery of the curriculum using a blended learning model to advance student success in the ABSN program. In addition to the general oversight of student success, the director works collaboratively to support and identify retention strategies, provide faculty support, and evaluate student data.

Pre-launch:

Prior to launching the program the Director, Nursing Services will work closely with the regulatory, academic, and our exclusive healthcare partner, the Valley Health System, to meet curricular alignment of Clinical, Lab, and Simulation experiences.

Post-launch:

Once the program is launched, the Director, Nursing Services is accountable for providing leadership and management of the ABSN learning site in Las Vegas. Responsibilities include scheduling, proctoring, skills laboratory, clinical placement and compliance, and simulation for ABSN students at the Las Vegas site. Orbis has partnered with Valley Health to serve as the dedicated healthcare partner for student clinical rotations.

Requirements:

  • Be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Nevada
  • Have at least 5 years of experience as a registered nurse, 3 years of which must be teaching in a program of nursing accredited by a nationally recognized association
  • Preferred experience in academic and professional administration
  • The administrator of a program of nursing which grants a bachelors degree in nursing must have a masters degree with a major in nursing and a doctorate degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited school
