Job Description
Grand Canyon University is seeking a Director of Academic Compliance. The Director of Academic Compliance is responsible for ensuring Grand Canyon University students have the opportunity to be heard through fair and objective academic compliance processes, while holding students accountable to appropriate ethical and academic policies. Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Academic Compliance, the Director of Academic Compliance leads a large team responsible for student academic compliance functions, including Code of Conduct, University Appeals, and Internal Review.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility for administration and management of the Office of Academic Compliance processes - Code of Conduct, University Appeal, and Internal Review.
- Supervise Academic Compliance staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and development.
- Monitor department metrics for compliance with timeframes specified in Service Length Agreements and applicable University policies.
- Ensure consistent and objective application of campus and University policy as it relates to the areas of Code of Conduct, University Appeals, and Internal Review.
- Serve as process expert and point of contact for staff other departments for routine issues and interpretation of University policy. Assists in assessing complex or unique situations to determine appropriate action.
- Provide support for internal processes designed to meet the requirements of external bodies such as the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education (AZPPSE)
- Contribute to special projects related to the development of Academic Compliance, Academic Affairs, or the University.
- Create and distribute routine metrics and reports.
- Analyze data to identify trends and barriers; Recommends/implements enhancements to policy and/or process.
- Undertake the continuous review of practices and processes in relation to Academic Compliance functions to ensure efficiency and provide the best possible experience for internal departments and students.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to develop and implement methods to reduce plagiarism, cheating, and other violations of the Student Code of Conduct and Academic Standards.

Qualifications:
- Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution required.
- Five years work experience, preferably with policy or compliance focus.
- Preferred experience managing direct reports including coaching, counseling, and employment decisions.
- Experience in higher education preferred
- Must pass pre-employment background investigation
