Responsibilities

A Day in the Life of a Director of IT Applications:

As a Lincoln Military Housing Director of IT Applications, you will be responsible for leading the National IT Applications Team and supporting current and determining future enterprise IT needs. Your position continually formulates, executes, and refreshes IT strategies. You will also oversee the design and implementation of systems, services, processes, and policies that support the enterprise infrastructure of the organization. Your role implements the enterprise architecture and the development and maintenance of the organization's computing/IT environment and stays current with, and regularly communicates and mitigates all material risks within area of responsibility. You will work closely with Operations, Marketing, Legal, HR, IT Infrastructure and other departments to align requirements to system configurations. You should have a deep technical background and significant experience with Property Manage Systems (PMS), HRMS, ITMS, SSO, EPP systems and services.

Your Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provides strategic and tactical direction, planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of IT systems and people in the IT Applications Department in collaboration with the executive team.
  • Manage IT Application staff and oversee IT systems administration and the service desk team.
  • Oversee and continually adjust and evolve all infrastructure monitoring processes, including identifying and recommending new technology solutions.
  • Determining business requirements for IT systems.
  • Oversee capital expenditures and computing expenses for the company, including budgeting, tracking, and cost containment. Keeping the cost structure in line with organizational targets and actively and continually pursue savings opportunities.
  • Utilizing all available resources to ensure that the support processes and events are in place to place the right talent in the team. Engage the team in the business, sustain morale, guarantee targeted/meaningful technical and soft skills development at all levels, provides effective performance review and feedback. Ensure that both outstanding performers and challenges are visible and moving through the respective processes.
  • Team leadership responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Assists with system upgrades, implementations, and maintenance when required. Administration of various business system software.
  • Continuously stays up to date with systems changes and updates to ensure knowledge of business systems is globally understood.
  • Identifying and eliminating security vulnerabilities with strategic solutions that increase data security.
  • Directing and supporting the implementation of new software and hardware.
  • Manage vendor and service provider relationships, including but not limited to vendor selection, service level agreements, contract negotiation.
Qualifications

What You Need for Success:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent work experience in Computers, Software, IT, Enterprise Property Management.
  • 10+ years of IT application management experience preferably in the real estate/property management industry.
  • 10+ years managing and developing teams of 10+ IT professionals across Help Desk, System Administration, Database and Development.
  • 5+ years Property Management Software experience (PMS)
  • 5+ years IT Service Management (ITSM)
  • 5+ years supporting 1,000+ employees/workstations.
  • 2+ years managing single sign-on (SSO)
  • 2+ years supporting Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS)
  • 2+ years knowledge of SOCs, EPP, vulnerability scans, pen tests.
  • 2+ years working with 3rd party APIs and integration.
  • Managerial experience supporting mobile devices
  • Managerial knowledge of scripting, data syncing, imports/exports, automation (powershell, vbscript a plus)
  • Multifaceted IT Management background with proven ability to hyper-task with daily operations while concurrently progressing short- and long-term projects.
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills. Exceptional understanding of each issue along with the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical people is a must.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to mentor teams are required (negotiation, teambuilding, positive thinking, can-do attitude, and job flexibility).
  • Ability to travel to other regional locations for work, training, meetings, and other work-related activities.
  • Must be able to deal with a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment, including leading and managing multi-departmental tasks on a daily basis.
  • Leader and self-motivated. Must be able to work independently with little supervision and drive ideas into reality.
  • Must be a Team Player and communicate issues, solutions, ideas across IT department and company to ensure cross-training, proper handoffs/escalations, knowledge transfer and general communication.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License or ability to commute to office, sites, and conferences.
  • Requires use of personal vehicle & mobile device (expenses reimbursed).
  • Must be able to clear additional background checks for military base access.
