Job Description
Coordinates activities between the purchasing, planning, marketing, and R&D managers for product launches, and transitions. This position will drive the creation and maintenance of an S&OP process, set and maintain inventory policies and targets, and develop KPIs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Executive management to develop sales and operations (S&OP) plans, provide weekly feedback through trend charts on plan achievement
- Responsible for negotiating supplier contracts that are deemed to be major by Program Management and Operations
- Develop and implement a strategy with periodic performance review of the established supplier base in context of defined business needs
- Work closely with engineering and finance to ensure material cost targets are being met on new and current products
- Monitor shipping use, modalities, and rates to minimize freight cost, set pricing in manifest system for outbound freight to meet profit objectives
- Execute the Supply Chain Performance Measurement plan at the facility and report these results to the
- Supply Chain Officer in an accurate and timely manner
- Drive the development and execution of the strategic vision for the Supply Chain organization and ensure Supply Chain is a customer centric organization
- Establish strategies, goals, tactics and operating procedures in support of business partners strategies and plans
- Provide strategic consulting and analytic perspective to executive management and key business stakeholders on strategies, opportunities, and risks
- Oversee the entire supply chain operations, including purchasing, planning, inventory management, logistics and order fulfillment.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company goals and market demands.
- Manage sustainability initiatives and risk management plans.
- Monitor the movement of goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and cost effectiveness.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to meet quality and safety standards.
- Create & maintain partnerships with suppliers for goods and services to optimize inventory, maintain stable inventory levels at the best price. This includes raw materials, packaging and MRO items.
- Collaborate with Planning, Marketing, and R&D teams to align & execute supply chain activities with demand from product launch to end-of life transitions.
- Focus on cost management and customer satisfaction by driving the creation and maintenance of KPIs for the teams under his/her direct supervision. Examples include weekly delivery counts, warehouse cycle counts, PR-to PO aging indicators, vendor scorecards & lead-time maintenance, on time delivery metrics, freight cost measures, and purchased inventory targets.
- Strong data management skills are a must. Candidates must be able to independently build KPI tools to measure operational and financial performance.
- Familiar with ERP and MRP systems. Oracle cloud preferred.
- Able to identify potential problems and points of friction and work to find solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Proven ability to manage multiple teams and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Create & document supply chain management strategies that work across departments to increase efficiency and speed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly manages the Purchasing, Planning, Warehouse and Inventory Control teams. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four-year college or university required; A minimum of 5 years of relevant post college experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Professional Membership in the Association for Supply Chain Management, or APICS is a plus. APICS certification preferred (CPIM & CSCP).
Compensation: $130K - $150K
