    Supervises: Network Engineer, Technology Support Manager, Technology Support Assistants, and Data System Specialist

    The purpose of the job of Director of Technology is to provide leadership, direction and coordination of the Districts infrastructure as well as maintain the districts technology plan, instructing others in the operation of equipment and computer applications: making equipment repairs and providing technical support, and diagnosing malfunctions and/or recommending equipment acquisitions.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree.
    • Four plus years of experience in network administration, server administration and workstation management.
    • Knowledge of processes and procedures involved in diagnosing and resolving server/workstation issues in a client/server environment.
    • Analytical skills to determine the source of problems and provide resolution and eliminate recurring problems.
    • Arizona elementary teaching certificate OR Arizona 7-12 teaching certificate with endorsement(s) (Computer Science) OR Administrative certificate, preferred.
    • Minimum three years successful classroom teaching experience, preferred.
    • Computer Science degree, preferred.
    Essential Functions:
    • Knowledge of, and ability to utilize effectively, the districts computer system, hardware and instructional software and make recommendations for implementation at the district and school level.
    • Ability to assist adults in the use of computers and mobile technology, operating systems, application software, and integration of technology into the curriculum.
    • Experience and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and administrators to develop and/or adopt technology based solutions.
    • Ability to diagnose and trouble-shoot hardware, software and system problems.
    • Demonstrated aptitude for working with a committee to develop and create a budget for a district-wide technology plan;
    • Demonstrated computer literacy;
    • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills in dealing with staff and the general public.
    • Communicate with others in a clear and precise manner and work cooperatively and tactfully with staff and public even in times of stress.
    • Maintain confidentiality of information.
    • Relates to the public and staff in a positive manner.
    • Provide training for staff in the use of software applications including multimedia technology.
    • Oversee the Computer Science curriculum and facilitate the Computer Science Professional Learning Community.
    • Maintain and create SQL queries, manage data provisioning from Synergy and Visions to other databases throughout the district.
    • Oversee all audit requirements including the maintenance of system documentation, disaster recovery planning, incident reporting, internal policies and procedures, and cybersecurity policy and awareness training.
    • Procure, install and administer computer hardware, software, networks and multimedia technology for schools and the district office.
    • Remain current regarding research in educational applications of technology and informs others. (i.e. ISTE Standards, TPack Framework, etc.)
    • Recommend appropriate hardware and software for implementation of curriculum and technological advancement.
    • Provide technical support and assistance to district personnel.
    • Perform analysis functions to identify and correct technology related problems.
    • Perform software troubleshooting, prepares and maintains User Guides, and conducts product demonstrations.
    • Maintain and update the districts technology plan.
    • Maintain the districts website.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
