The Director of Physician Contracting and Portfolio Management is responsible for ensuring provider contracts, employed and non-employed, are processed in an efficient and effective manner across the entire health system. The position is responsible for managing the contract review and approval process and procedures and revising them, as necessary, to meet stakeholder needs.

The Director is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of all physician contracts and serving as a resource for analysis and/or data. Responsibilities include serving as the physician contract management system administrator, overseeing staff who support the physician contracting process, establishing a standard process for the evaluation (including FMV), management, and execution of said contracts. In addition, the Director is responsible for coordinating and facilitating regularly scheduled contract review and approval process meetings for key stakeholders.

The position understands federal and state laws and regulations regarding physician self-referral (commonly known as Stark law), Anti-kickback statute, fraud and abuse, and tax-exemption. The individual is familiar with various compensation models related to physicians. The Director has good knowledge of physician practice and hospital operations.

Reporting directly to the Physician Alignment Group CFO, the individual is responsible for working closely with the corporate legal department, corporate responsibility department, Centura Health Physician Group (CHPG) leadership, Operating Group leadership and Hospital leadership. The position will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer. The position requires periodic travel to various Centura facilities and business offices.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Bachelor Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Required
  • 5 years contract experience
  • 3 years healthcare experience, strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with various physician compensation models and understanding of wRVUs
  • Understands fair market value tools and understands independent valuation firm requests and reports Communicate effectively with all position levels
  • Confident and ability to work through disagreements or differing opinions as needed
  • Can operate in a high-pressure environment
  • Detail-oriented with capability to prioritize and organize high volumes of tasks
  • Excellent computer and web-based application skills

This position may be eligible for a Sign-on Bonus and/or Relocation Bonus.
