$58. 39 - $80.58/hr

Job SummaryThe Director will participate in initiating, developing and establishing facility specific and regional models for financial analysis as related to requested and mandated changes to the chargemaster. Directs and actively participates/initiates in reimbursement optimization opportunities across Centura driving initiatives at the various facilities through coordinated efforts focused on realization of all charge capture opportunities. This includes providing analyses for corporate level reimbursement projects as requested by Finance/Revenue Management.Directly responsible for maintaining the, the Charge Description Master (CDM) in a manner that is consistent with applicable billing guidelines from Medicare, Medicaid and all other third-party payors. Also responsible for the Chargemaster Department including all policies and procedures and staff. Ensure that the Chargemaster Department is organized efficiently with:* Written Policies and Procedures that ensure standardization of processes;* Establishment of expected timeframes in which processes are completed;* Effective training methods for CDM staff that include verification of competency on an on-going basis;* Quality Assurance program to ensure that the CDM is maintained accurately and appropriate internal control mechanisms are in place;* Development of an internal tracking and documentation process to retain communications with an information received from third party payors (specifically government payors);* Development of an effective method to disseminate CDM and billing information to appropriate clinical and non-clinical departments across Centura Health System that includes documentation of information provided.The Director is responsible for planning and leading critical and highly visible projects and managing assigned internal and external resources, as assigned. Works closely with the Revenue Management, Corporate Integrity and Contract Management to ensure that billing practices are consistent with regulatory requirements. Provides reimbursement analysis, assists with bill problem resolution, and is key to ensuring compliance with all contract and government billing requirements. Works effectively with appropriate groups and committees to ensure compliance with all regulations and that effective business practices are in place at Centura Health. Specifically, this includes facilitation of an effective Chargemaster Steering Committee that includes applicable ancillary service departments, compliance, finance and Health Information representatives.In coordination with Audit & Corporate Integrity, the Director works collaboratively to develop and provide an effective annual training program for Centura Health professional (ancillary) staff to review correct use of the CDM, procedures for requesting service code changes, CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines and practices, proper documentation guidelines.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Minimum Experience RequirementsFive years of experience in acute care hospital environment with three years of experience in hospital Chargemaster setup and maintenance, preferably in a multi-hospital setting.Specific experience should include procedural coding for Medicare, Medicaid and Workers Compensation. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, HCPCS coding and revenue coding required.Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills; training experience preferred.

Education Requirement

Bachelors Degree, preferably in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance or Accounting. Bachelors degree in nursing or in an ancillary therapeutic or diagnostic patient care field may be substituted.

License/Certifications Requirement

Coding certification (AAPC or AHIMA) highly preferred.
