General Description of Duties: Provides direct training and support to clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Will provide (1:1) support services to ensure their ADLs are maintained during their scheduled work hours, and that any mobility, access and communication within the workplace are met. Will build positive relationships to promote normalized integration of the client into the company environment. Assists in the implementation of health maintenance supports. Will be responsible for keeping all required documentation for the individuals progress and implementation of training and fading plans as well as participating in the Individualized Service Plan. May include carrying out personal care duties. Makes recommendations for program changes as needed. This is a hands-on position with persons with developmental disabilities. Must be able to work independently, in often unfamiliar settings.

Education and Training: High School Diploma or equivalent required with post high school or college preferred. Experience working with developmental disability population preferred. Must complete specific certifications (from our training department) and maintain those certifications throughout employment. Interest in learning or having some basic knowledge of computer repair would be helpful. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante. Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers.

Other Requirements: Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening. Must have own reliable transportation, valid NM drivers license, and insurable driving record. Must be able to lift 30 lbs occasionally. Must be able to handle multiple and changing priorities. May require working in confined hard-to-reach spaces.
