Position Summary |
The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
CDD's Autism & Other Developmental Disabilities Division is recruiting to hire an Educational Consultant to serve school districts throughout New Mexico. The successful candidate will provide consultation, technical assistance, training, coaching and consultation in community settings including schools throughout the state for personnel involved in the education of children with autism spectrum disorder.
This Education Consultant must have the knowledge and the ability to select, implement and teach evidence based practices appropriate for classroom use and individual students. Will work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to determine appropriate behavioral interventions for children with challenging behaviors. Will research, develop, prepare and deliver professional development specific to the full participation of each child in the general education setting. Will develop on-line trainings for educators regarding evidenced based practices in the classroom.
This position requires monthly travel throughout the state, with occasional overnight stay.

Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
