Electrician

Max Planck Florida Institute (MPFI) is currently seeking a customer service oriented and experienced Electrician to join the facilities team. The selected individual will be responsible for the electrical operation, maintenance and repairs throughout the facility and grounds, primarily related to electrical systems. 

Typical duties will include installing, servicing and repairing lighting fixtures, electrical outlets, receptacles, wiring, and specialized electrical equipment. Will install conduit, operate and repair main power switchgear, panels, and sub-panels, the emergency generator, electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors, and fans. Will read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams and drawings and will conduct visual inspections of electrical systems and spaces, documents readings, notes those that are outside of acceptable tolerances and, when appropriate, rectifies deficiencies. Will play an active role in the preventative maintenance program for various equipment and systems. In additional to electrical work, the electrician may do other trades work incidental to electrical work as a key member of the facilities team.

Education requirements

A High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience is required.

Experience requirements

Requisite licenses and permits required by local laws and ordinances is required. Attention to detail and accuracy, good communication skills, high levels of discretion, professional judgment, ethics and confidentiality is required. The selected individual must have experience providing outstanding customer service. On-call emergency coverage may be necessary.
