A Day in the Life of an Electrician:

As an Electrician for Lincoln Military Housing, you will perform skilled work within the installation, such as repairs and maintenance of electrical wiring and equipment. Your role will perform various maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community. You will work as a team participant along with the maintenance staff to ensure the community meets the quality maintenance standards set by the Lincoln Military Housing.

Your Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Respond to resident service requests and concerns in a timely manner. Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical wiring and equipment for the community.
  • Report maintenance concerns for repairs on vacant units, models, clubhouse, and/or common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain open communication with the District Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.
  • May assist in monitoring and/or controlling maintenance inventory and/or supplies. Maintains Company tools, equipment and vehicles in good condition.
  • Drive licensed motorized vehicle on or off property for Company business.
  • Move heavy objects as requested.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor or District Manager on special maintenance projects, i.e., preventative maintenance of building components and/or mechanicals.
  • Work closely with management and maintenance staff in developing an integral team that effectively represents the quality and professionalism of LMH properties.
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times, on or off the property. Consistently maintain a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with residents, co-workers and the public, at all times, on or off the property.
  • Attend and participates in training seminars as requested.
  • Assist other staff members as needed.
  • Perform on-call emergency service as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

What You Need For Success:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six (6) years job related experience.
  • Must have an advanced knowledge of and ability to use the National Electrical Code book.
  • Ability to use lock out system and various gauges for testing equipment to ensure all work meets the electrical code is required.
  • May be required to work after regular hours and on weekends in instances of emergency.
  • Must be able to use hand tools normally used in the construction and maintenance fields (specialized measuring and testing equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, ohmmeters, and meggers).
  • Two-year residential electrician license card (must be current and valid).
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record along with auto insurance required.
  • Ability to perform numerous physical activities that require considerable use of your hands, arms and legs and moving your whole body, including prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting and handling of materials.
  • Must be able frequent lift, grasp and carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficient hand/eye dexterity is essential to install, position, or assemble objects. Color perception, the ability to differentiate colors in terms of hue and the ability to differentiate a particular color or color combination from memory is required.
  • Must be able to communicate well enough to receive instructions and provide information to others.
  • Must be able to work inside and outside in all types of weather.
