Job Description

Allied Universal has security jobs and are seeking to fill the position of an EMT. For all full-time positions, we offer medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, 401K, sick pay (in states where required), employee assistance programs, company discounts, perks and more! We also offer part-time and flexible schedules!

An EMT works as a member of a pre-hospital emergency care medical team. The EMT administers first aid treatment and other emergency care to sick or injured persons and assists with facilitating the transport to medical facilities. At times, the EMT will also be required to handle some security related functions.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent for non-driving and 21 years of age for driving positions
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Possess and maintain a State Certified EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic license
  • Current Health Care Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR card
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • For Driving Positions must be 21 years of age, Current state drivers license, clean driving record (no points in prior 3 years), minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Responds to emergency calls from a dispatcher such as requests for medical assistance following emergency response proceedings
  • Establishes priorities in order to determine procedures to be followed for emergency first aid or assistance; Request additional help, including special rescue and utility services
  • Provides emergency medical care and other treatment pursuant to EMT certifications

Site Specific:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Respond to all mill site emergencies - fire, hazardous materials, medical and natural disasters
  • Provide first aid and emergency medical treatment; resolve injury management concerns; complete paperwork
  • Perform all Reliability/Basic Care (weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual) inspections/tests of the mill fire protection systems
  • Interface with Risk Management Coordinator, especially with fire system impairments
  • Provide medical assistance such as performing random/post-accident drug screens
  • Assist Occupational Health Nurse with clinical duties
  • Perform other Environmental, Health and Safety duties as directed
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
  • Clinical experience
  • Emergency Response experience
  • Basic knowledge of fire protection systems
  • Knowledge of Industrial operations and processes

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified National Registry EMT-B
  • Must be able to work in adverse conditions
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work shift rotation including night and weekends

SPECIAL CONDITIONS-

  • Applicant must possess excellent problem solving and leadership skills. Applicant must be a self starter, confident and knowledgeable enough to make decisions without supervisory input. Decisions made can affect the Eastover Mill operations. Applicant must also be able to work with all levels of employees, especially mill management, to resolve issues with all aspects of emergency response, fire systems, confined space, hot work, safety and environmental.
  • Applicants who possess an NREMT-Paramedic or NREMT-Advanced certification will only be allowed to work to the NREMT-Basic scope of practice.
