About ORMC:
Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Womens and Childrens Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.

Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.

About the Position:

The Nursing Director is responsible to the Chief Nursing Officer and manages one or more defined areas of nursing services. The Nursing Director advocates for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice. He/she promotes shared decision-making and professional autonomy by providing input (their own and that of their staff) into executive-level decisions, and by keeping staff informed of executive level activities and vice versa.

The Nursing Director provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. He/she has major responsibility for the implementation of the vision, mission, philosophy, values, evidence-based practice, and standards of the organization, and nursing services within his/her defined areas of responsibility. Regulatory Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current Registered Nursing Licensure in the State of Texas
  • Minimum of two year's managerial experience in nursing in an acute care hospital
  • ACLS, PALS, & BLS Required. TNCC must be obtained within 6 months.
