Job Description

Responsible for the care of the endoscopy patient by proficiently planning, implementing and evaluating the preparation of the endoscopy case and the endoscopy suites. Assists in all endoscopy procedures including ERCP's and emergent GI procedures such as foreign body extraction and GI bleeders. Assists in all Pulmonary procedures such as Bronchoscopy and Thoracentesis. Assists with other minor procedures, such as eye cases and apligrafs, under the supervision of the RN or physician. Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient and staff by complying with regulatory agency requirements and standards set forth by professional organizations and employers. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as necessary. High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience

Provides patients with quality care during the surgical/procedural experience.
Is a member of the interdisciplinary team along with the Registered Nurse, Surgeon, and Anesthesia Staff.
Provides instrumentation, supplies and equipment for the surgery/procedure.

Education:

Required: High School Diploma or GED
Recommended: Surgical Technician Program graduate
Preferred: Endo Tech Certification

Experience:

Preferred: At least one (1) year of experience; preferred experience includes either a medical office or acute care facility setting.
Preferred: Surgical Technologist/Technician.
Promotes positive relationships.
Ability to work under stressful situations.

Licenses/Certificates:

Required: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after one (1) full month of work.
Preferred: GI Certification
Preferred: CST/CORT
