Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a Counsel for its national energy group in the Washington D.C office. This growing, cutting edge practice spans traditional energy with an emphasis on emerging areas in renewables and affecting climate change. The candidate should have at least eight years of FERC-related experience, especially with FERC natural gas ratemaking and certificate processes, but also gas and electric regulatory matters generally. The practice focuses on a variety of litigation, regulatory, and compliance issues related to gas, LNG, electricity and renewables for a national mix of clients committed to addressing climate change responsibly. Candidates will interact directly with clients with the goal of quickly assuming responsibility and ownership of complex matters in an established energy practice. Training and resources are also available to develop the candidate's own client base. Candidates must have a J.D. and admission to the local bar. Prior law firm experience or employment at FERC is not required but would be very beneficial.
