About Us:

New Alternatives, Inc. has been awarded the Incredible Years contract and is expanding its mission to help families reunify through therapy, case management, and community support. We are dedicated to providing high-quality services, including individual therapy, family therapy, supervised therapeutic visitations, case management, and parenting classes throughout San Diego County.

Compensation: $18 - $21 per hour (depending on education, experience, and languages spoken)

We have office locations: Kearny Mesa, Vista, and Chula Vista. Engagement Specialists will be required to travel between these locations as needed to provide services to families across the region.

What You’ll Do:

As an Engagement Specialist, you will provide essential support and services to families in the Child Welfare System. Your primary focus will be to engage children and parents who have experienced adversity, offering services that promote successful reunification.

Your role will include:

● Case Management: Engage families and provide case management services to ensure successful reunification.

● Community Linkages: Connect families to community resources that enhance their journey toward successful reunification.

● In-Home Support: Provide in-home services to help strengthen parenting skills and support families in their goals.

● Therapeutic Transportation: Provide transportation services for children and teens to therapeutic appointments.

● Visitation & Parent Coaching: Facilitate therapeutic visitation and offer parent coaching services to improve family dynamics.

● Incredible Years Groups: Co-facilitate parenting groups (training provided) to support the growth and development of parenting skills.

● Clear Communication: Ensure consistent communication when documenting and interacting with the team to track progress and support reunification.

● Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to further the success of the program.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be passionate, experienced, and motivated to engage with children, youth, and families. Should be able to build rapport with families who have faced great adversity and navigate challenges with empathy and respect.

Additional requirements include:

● Education: A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred.

● Experience: Solid experience working with children, youth, and families facing adversity. Experience in the Child Welfare System and mental health services is a plus.

● Spanish-Speaking: Strong preference for Spanish-speaking candidates to better support diverse families.

● Transportation: Reliable transportation is required for client visits and services.

● Skills: Ability to engage, motivate, and build relationships with children, parents, and caregivers.

● Availability: Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week

● Flexibility: A flexible schedule to meet the needs of families and the program.
