Overview

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is currently seeking an Engineering Maintenance Worker III to join the Institutes Facilities Team. Under direct supervision, the Engineering Maintenance Worker III will be responsible for monitoring HVAC controls, pneumatic control, performing electrical duties as required, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, HAVC repairs and repairing central plant equipment. This includes heating, hot water boilers, steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, air compressors, vacuum pumps and associated support equipment. The individual will also assist with plumbing and other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.

The work schedule will be Monday Friday 6:30 am 3:00pm.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of directly-related maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained. Prior documented experience working with HVAC-R, plumbing, boiler operations, supply and exhaust fans, pumps, evaporative coolers, air filtration systems, gas fired heaters and electrical experience is required.

Must have demonstrated skills in general maintenance and be able to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of maintenance problems. This position requires the ability to complete associated paperwork and work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must be highly motivated with good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Requires computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.

Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling heavy equipment, bending, stooping, climbing, carrying, outdoor work and working alone for long periods of time with or without accommodation. Must be able to wear a respirator and any other required personal protective equipment.

A Post-offer background check and the ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB) is required.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

An associates or Bachelors degree in engineering is preferred.

Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience.
