Compensation (Pay): $13.61 to $15.66 based on experience.

Job Summary:

Responsible for many aspects of patient needs and customer service. Job duties include: Determining eligibility for CICP applications, verifying private insurance, CHP+ and Medicaid on Webportal. Registering patients who currently have private insurance, Medicaid, and/or CHP+ and ensuring all paperwork/eligibility is reviewed with each patient. Data Entry into practice management systems. Answering calls regarding patient coverage status, payer contract and billing questions, transferring calls to appropriate departments and other patient service duties. Makes appointments for enrollment and clinics. Supports many internal departments by providing quality customer service. Performs other duties as assigned.

There are four separate functions performed by Enrollment Services Specialists Greeters, Navigators, Technicians and the Phone Team. Enrollment staff transition through these different functions as business needs require.

Greeter staff provide patient intake function. Greeters are responsible for assessing the needs of the individuals that present at Enrollment Services International Circle, Enrollment Services Union and Enrollment Services North Academy. Greeters provide forms to patients for completion and escort patients to a table, making them available for Navigator staff. Greeters receive documentation from patients for completion of applications. Greeters may also complete applications, as necessary.

Navigators work with patients at tables to complete documentation and prepare the patient for technician to work with them on eligibility screening. Navigators manage tech schedules and reconcile application counts. Navigators may also complete applications or perform greeter functions, as necessary.

Technicians complete eligibility applications with patients, and guide patients through the insurance exchange process. Technicians may also perform navigator or greeter functions, as necessary.

Staff members assigned to the Phone Team answer call regarding patient coverage status, payer contract and billing questions. Phone Team staff make appointments and register patients to practice management systems from telephone calls.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience: Customer Service experience preferred.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Verbal communication, basic math and the ability to defuse tense situations required.

Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge.

Other Skills: Bi-lingual preferred.. Ability to work both as a team and also independently.

Physical Demands:

Able to lift at least 25 pounds. Long periods of standing and moving. Occasional periods of sitting. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time.
