Position Description
The Enterprise IT Business Analyst I scope of responsibility includes learning the business goals and processes of Texas Tech departments , ability to use this understanding to document business processes and serve as a liaison between central IT and functional departments assisting in support of software applications. Additional responsibilities could include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to business areas and assisting in implementation and configurations of software applications. Enterprise positions are restricted for use in central IT Division areas reporting up to the institutional CIO and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership and/or functional leadership from the Texas Tech University System institutions.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Provide administrative support, management, maintenance and training related to the curriculum applications for all schools, projects and other third party systems.
  • Performs analysis, technical requirements, creates and maintains documentation, and proposes potential solutions for various curricular needs and projects required by the Office of Medical Education and the Medical Education department.
  • Produce and maintain appropriate analysis documentation for Office of Medical Education and Academic Technology tasks and projects.
  • Provide training to Medical Education faculty, students, and staff and curriculum application users.
  • Analysis and business process improvement for Office of Medical Education and Medical Education departmental data, process flow and reporting.
  • Analyze third party applications and tools to meet Office of Medical Education, Medical Education department, or Academic Technology's goals and objectives.
  • Other related duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Office products, and/or other Higher Education curriculum applications.
  • Experience with business analysis reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI is desired.
  • Experience with SQL queries and reporting is a plus. -Understanding of computer programming and database design through education and/or experience is desired, and /or testing applications.
  • Experience working directly with end users is a plus.
  • Experience with Banner/Cognos queries and reporting is a plus.
  • Specific or specialized technical skills, as appropriate to the area and/or team.
