Entry Level Shop Hand - $16-18 / hr. (OT, 401k, Health, dental, life insurance)

HOODZ of Central Texas is seeking a dependable and motivated Shop Hand for our San Antonio warehouse. This is an entry level position; some experience is a plus but training will be provided. To be successful in this role you must be willing to learn and follow direction. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday 7:30 to 4:30.

This position will provide general support for repair and maintenance staff including but not limited to:

• Maintain equipment such as tools, gauges, drills, etc.
• Understand and follow the proper use of equipment and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with inspection of machinery, identifying issues, and recommending solutions for optimal performance
• Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting company pressure washers and water heaters mounted on company service trucks as required.
• Help manage vehicle PM programs
• Basic vehicle maintenance in-house
• Manage shop inventory
• Perform other related tasks as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Texas Drivers License; this position requires driving for the company using a company vehicle.
• Reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality are essential for this position.
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions and perform physical work, as well as to lift weights of up to 50 pounds regularly and above 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to interpret basic technical manuals, schematics
• Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with team members

You must be able to pass a drug, background screen and physical abilities test/motor vehicle record check (if one is required per the position).
