Environmental Services Floor Technician
Job Description
We are looking for a hardworking, dedicated and experienced Environmental Services Floor Technician to perform floor maintenance tasks and keep our healthcare facility clean and safe for our residents. In this role, you perform general floor maintenance tasks to maintain resident rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas. You will also be required to maintain and store cleaning equipment properly. An understanding of quality customer service is important. Working in our facility requires compassion and strong teamwork skills are a must. Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain assigned facilities in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings.
Removes, dirt, food, dust, grease and film from floor surfaces using proper cleaning solutions.
Must clean up human waste and other body fluids as required.
Clean buildings floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming and running the floor machine.
Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, shampooers and related environmental service equipment as assigned.
Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.
Sweep and mop floors
Assist with striping, buffing, and waxing surfaces
Clean or shampoo carpets
Move or cover furniture for deep cleaning tasks
Perform light window and wall cleaning duties
Perform routine maintenance and repairs
Maintain a safe and clean workspace
Maintain equipment and supplies
Follow workplace safety standards
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
One year floor technician experience in a health care facility preferred
Obtain and maintain DPS fingerprint clearance card
Obtain and maintain CPR certification
Physical stamina and physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to twist, bend and kneel through shift; able to pick up debris from the floor
Must be able to work with chemicals, infectious waste, diseases and communicable diseases.
Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
Frequent use of mechanical equipment that has moving mechanical parts and vibration.
Regularly required to talk, hear and read.
Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds
