DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Equipment Service Worker performs preventative maintenance tasks and work of routine difficulty in
servicing vehicles and/or heavy-duty equipment. Duties include responding to field service calls, servicing and
performing minor repairs to automotive and other motorized equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
0 Schedule and perform oil changes; lubricate automotive equipment and replacement parts (i.e., bearings,
sprockets, chains, gears, pulleys, hoses, etc.).
0 Inspect and change fuel, oil, transmission ?uid, and water levels to ensure all ?uids are maintained at proper
levels; replace lubricant, hydraulic ?uids, coolant ?uids, and air filters at proper intervals.
0 Facilitate and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule.
0 Maintain inventory of parts and supplies on-hand and recommend purchase of new parts and supplies.
0 Repair, replace, balance, and service a variety of tires and tubes; check and maintain proper wheel balance;
conduct performance tests and document results.
0 Maintain accurate service and stock records; prepare written reports of work activities and other work-related
records.
0 May assist mechanic with routine repairs, i.e. diagnosing, repairing and overhauling.
0 Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:0 Knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods, and practices used in tire maintenance/ repair and
automotive and other motorized equipment service and repair.
0 Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions associated with the service and repair of vehicles and equipment,
including lifting of heavy items and use/handling of lubricants.
0 Knowledge of manual and powered lubrication equipment.
0 Skill in the operation and proper care of tools, materials, and equipment used in routine mechanical and
automotive service and repair.
0 Ability to repair and service a variety of vehicle problems and perform mechanical tasks.
0 Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing vehicle and performing safety checks in the
field.
0 Ability to maintain simple records.
0 Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.
0 Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Officials and the
general public.
0 Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years experience in a variety of automotive servicing
functions of vehicles and/or heavy equipment.ADDITIONAL RES QUIREMENTS:

- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred.
0 Possession of, or obtain within six (6) months of hire a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL), with
Hazmat Endorsement.

- Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record
must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission
of the application.Non-Supervisory, Hourly Position
