Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of Americas top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.

Primary Function

The Escrow Analysis Specialist II will be responsible for running bulk escrow analysis processes and monitor a suite of reports designed to support business operations to minimize risk. The individual will learn and become proficient with Excel and SQL based reports to support the business unit. Additionally, the Escrow Analysis Specialist II will be responsible for completing requests received via group inbox as well as working with the print vendor.

Principal Duties:

List of required duties below.

  • Perform daily escrow analysis via task work queue, escalation emails, and monthly bulk processing for the portfolio.
  • Research illogical collection amounts, due dates, or large changes in payment to ensure loans are compliant with RESPA regulations.
  • Solves problems rapidly and cost-effectively with minimal disruption.
  • Ensure Tax, Insurance, and PMI lines are set up accurately after loan acquisition.
  • Maintain and develop proficiency in all systems including ILS/IIM/Smartweb/LMS/OnBase
  • Monitor control reports to meet RESPA and investor timelines.
  • Loan level bankruptcy review; including POC reconciliation and prior servicer information.
  • New loan audits to confirm data points are present for future escrow analyses.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience

Required education and experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years mortgage experience; including escrow analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required knowledge, skills, and ability.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) including basic Excel formulas.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible to changing priorities, project scopes, and deadlines at any given time.
  • Must be able to multi-task, respond well under pressure, and work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of SQL data warehouse environments and OnBase imaging system; is a plus.
  • Advanced communication (written and verbal) skills with an ability to work well in a collaborative environment with all levels within the organization.
