What Success Looks Like In This Job

Event Bartenders are under the immediate supervision of the Event Services & Beverage Supervisor. This position will serve liquor to our event guests in a professional, responsible, and safe manner, while ensuring an excellent guest experience at the Adams County Regional Park. Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interaction while accurately mixing and serving beverages in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, bartenders are expected to provide guests with responsible alcohol service while delivering exceptional customer service. The event and programming schedule is heaviest during the summer and holiday months. Weekends and evenings are mandatory.

Examples of Duties for Success

  • Greet guests and assist Event Services & Beverage Supervisor with the event.
  • Conduct beverage service during the event to ensure proper service, providing good communication with and working cooperatively with the event team.
  • Practice and observes safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do the same.
  • Attend and participate in staff trainings.
  • Work and communicate effectively and enthusiastically with supervisors and co-workers to achieve all department and County goal.
  • Maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient beverage service.
  • Setup bar prior to each event with beverages, glasses, napkins, garnishes, etc. Arranging bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display.
  • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons following standard measuring practices.
  • Work with co-workers to keep all areas cleaned and stocked at all times.
  • Collect money from guests for drinks served and make proper change.
  • Monitor number of drinks guests are served. Should a guest reach a state that you do not feel comfortable continuing to serve them, take necessary steps to stop service to that individual.
  • Break down bar after each event. This includes putting away all beverages, glasses, napkins, garnishes etc. and wiping down the bar, equipment, etc.
  • Adhere to County Policies and Procedures, including emergency procedures and incident reports.
  • Bussing and cleaning as need.
  • Other duties as directed.

  • Facility Management:
  • Light custodial duties to implement opening and closing procedures for the event bar.
  • Safety:
  • Perform job safely with no safety violations.
  • Wear proper personal safety protection equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Identify safety hazards and notifies management.
  • Punctuality and Dependability:
  • Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
  • Notify supervisor of anticipated tardiness or missed shifts at least 6 hours before shift starts.
  • Environmental and Physical Conditions:
  • Walks and/or stands for majority of shift.
  • Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe.
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Frequent washing of hands.
  • Must be legal age to serve liquor according to state law.
More Qualifications for Success

  • Experience: 1-2 years experience with customer service, cash handling, and computers preferred.
  • Education and Training: Must have strong verbal communication skills. Must multi-task and work in a fast paced environment calmly and efficiently.
  • License or Certificate: TIPS certification must be obtained before shifts begin.
  • Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Other:
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
