Accountable To: Superintendent

Starting Salary: $118,160 (years of experience considered on salary placement)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:

In general direction, incumbent contributes as a member of the Superintendents Leadership Team. Incumbent oversees, supervises, and directs assigned departments and subdivisions. In addition, incumbent manages the talent management components to include strategic staff planning, recruitment and retention, performance management, compensation, career development and succession planning for the Washington Elementary School District.

Essential Functions:

  • Contributes as a member of the Superintendents Leadership Team.
  • Oversees, supervises, and directs the Human Resources and Transportation Department.
  • Oversees the Districts recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Determines strategic staff planning and succession planning.
  • Oversees performance management and staff discipline.
  • Assists with the career development of staff.
  • Evaluates procedures, programs and staffing models to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Also, ensures they complies with federal, state, and local laws and Governing Board policies and regulations.
  • Facilitates the Trust Board and oversees the health insurance programs.
  • Oversees staff compensation to include negotiating compensation package and salary placement.
  • Acts as the Districts EEO officer and handles grievances.
  • Develops, revises, and interprets District policies and regulations.
  • Handles unemployment hearings.
  • Acts as a liaison between the District and the community ensuring collaboration among constituents, the District, and the Superintendent.
  • Participates with county and state organizations in staying informed of human resource management issues as they relate to the District.
  • Engages with stakeholders and provides data and recommendations to support areas that affect Human Resources and education.

Required Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education Administration, or related field.
  • Five years of Human Resource Management or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

  • Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education Administration, or related field.
  • Ten years of Human Resource Management or related experience.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Handling evaluation processes,
  • Providing training and professional development,
  • Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc. to exchange information.
