    DEFINITION: Under close supervision of the site coordinator, assists program coordinator in ensuring student and staff safety, monitoring student activity, and managing program data.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    TASKS: Monitor student activities, monitor student and staff safety during after school programs, and provide assistance to after school programs through data collection and ongoing parent communication.
    This person serves as a positive role model for students; and performs related duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
    Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
    Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
    Knowledge Federal and State rules, regulations and laws governing teaching in a school environment.
    Knowledge of early childhood learning methods and techniques.
    Skill in identifying misconduct or unauthorized visitors.
    Skill in resolving conflict issues.
    Skill in preparing, documenting and maintaining reports.
    Skill in following oral and written instructions.
    Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
    Skill in using technology to maintain accurate records.
    Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
    Skill in monitoring and assisting students.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Work requires frequent driving, walking and standing. Work may involve lifting and carrying objects weighing as much as 50 pounds. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions and infectious diseases.

    QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent, and on the job training as specified by the District. Must possess an Arizona driver license. first aid/CPR certified.

    Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.
