OPERATOR TRAINEEAble to read, write, and understand EnglishAble to communicate clearly with Packer and supervision/ManagementAble to follow instructions and learn extrusion line operationOPERATOR LEVEL 1Able to name and explain purpose of all equipment used on extrusion lineInstructed on Company and site operations for productionCan read, understand, and follow the Production BoardCan comprehend a Product Specification Sheet to find and understand all dimensional specifications, packagingspecifications, and special instructions regarding the production of a product.Can make required dimensional measurementsCan make adjustments and keep product within specification for length and profile dimensionAble to identify common defects and make corrections with assistanceAble to check color on a product and understands L*a*b* color measurementsUnderstands and is able to check Impact.Able to adjust color or get assistance to adjust color as required by specificationAble to collect and legibly record process parameters on any extruderAble to identify improperly functioning heating/cooling zones on extruder or die.Able to properly clean a calibratorAble to properly remove and clean a dieAble to purge and shut-down a lineKnows location of all line water supply lines and water filters.Knows how to check water flow and change water filters without disrupting line operation.Understands proper use and differences of capstock, substrate, regrind and pigments.Understands material feed systems, alarms, and importance of monitoring material supply to extruder.Able to keep line functioning and cleanAble to train and direct PACKERS in job functions and basic QC checksWorks effectively as a line team member and a shift team memberAble to effectively communicate line, product, and shift issues to next shifts OPERATOR and PACKER.Perform other duties as assigned and capable for the assigned line, the shift, and the site.OPERATOR LEVEL 2Qualified as an OPERATOR LEVEL 1Able to adjust color and keep product within color specificationAble to make process parameter adjustments on extruderAble to correctly hook up thermocouples and die heaters at correct locations.Able to clean and reassemble a calibrator and vacuum tanks.Able to clean, reassemble, and properly torque a dieAble to make corrections for common defectsAble to correct issues with water pumps, vacuum pumps, separation tanks, and other auxiliary equipment.Able to keep line functioning efficiently and cleanAble to train OPERATOR LEVEL 1OPERATOR LEVEL 3Qualified as an OPERATOR LEVEL 2Has advanced knowledge and experience of extrusion and downstream equipment operationAble to complete product set-ups and change-overs in a timely mannerAble to prepare and start an extrusion line with minimal scrapAble to identity / troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical problems with extruder, downstream equipment,and material handling systems.Able to make corrections for common and uncommon defectsAble to train OPERATOR LEVEL 2Able to keep assigned lines functioning optimally and clean
