Additional Information:FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Location: Tucson Employee Status: Permanent Hours Per Week: 40 Work Calendar: 12-Month Pay Rate: $12.8677 Other: General Trade Knowledge CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Individual positions may be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and/or related duties
- Perform general maintenance/repair work on, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, structural, painting, and HVAC
- Maintain inventory system of work orders, preventative maintenance, and repairs
- Perform periodic standard inspection on tools and equipment ensuring safety and compliance
- Assist the Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician with instillation and repair of HVAC equipment
- Identify and apprise supervisor of possible repairs to be made to property, equipment, or grounds
- Continue professional growth through coursework and training sessions
KNOWLEDGE OF:- Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit
- Principles and practices of administration and management
- Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures
- Federal and State building laws, regulations, codes, and requirements
- General instillation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all facilities equipment
- Construction/safety practices and methods
SKILLED IN:- General equipment maintenance and repair
- Operation monitoring
- Judgement and decision making
ABILITY TO:- Communicate information and ideas effectively so that others will understand
- Read blueprints
- Troubleshoot
- Weld, blaze, and solder
SPECIAL CONDITIONS/REQUIREMENTS:- Must be able to pass FBI and state background check
- Defensive Driver Training Program to be completed by all agency personnel that drive on State business
- Valid Arizona Drivers License required during period of employment
- Must pass post offer physical
- Work related skill, knowledge, and experience in a maintenance department
- ASL (American Sign Language) skills if working with students/staff who are deaf or hard of hearing
