Facilities Project Planner is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of assigned construction and renovation projects. They will oversee the districts facilities archives and records, convert documents to electronic means, and update master facilities documents on CAD, PDFs or other BIM/GIS programs.

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
  • Assists with establishing district CAD standards
  • Assists with establishing archive cataloging structure and protocols
  • Assists with field verification of district facilities including land, buildings and other structures
  • Coordinates with outside entities to obtain documentation relating to district facilities
  • Creates floor plan identification maps associated with districts AHERA (asbestos) plans
  • Creates, reviews , evaluates and modifies for highest efficiencies, and participates in RFP development and evaluation of contractors
  • Ensures proper Close-Out documents are received and projects are closed properly
  • Evaluates, manages, and adjusts project completion during the school and calendar year
  • Helps coordinate building maintenance services and projects with other district departments and functions
  • Incorporates Capital Reserve, Building Modification and Work Order projects into master base file for each respective facility
  • Maintains Facilities Plan Room Documents and works with Districts record management consultant or coordinator
  • Maintains facilities standards, and/or other related specifications necessary
  • Operates a computer, document scanner, drawing printer and various peripherals and software
  • Oversees the districts facilities archives and records
  • Oversees the work of contractors on assigned projects
  • Prepares project budgets and tracking of all actual and projects costs against the project budget
  • Prepares all necessary reports
  • Prepares and updates project schedules, ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications
  • Provides electronic and hard copy documents and drawings to district employees and consultants
  • Provides project management and contract administration services for assigned projects
  • Receives and distributes submittals, receives and consolidates comments, holds meetings with stakeholders to confirm understanding of comments
  • Reviews design documents and construction work for quality and adherence to requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to perform construction cost estimating
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple design and construction projects
  • Ability to supervise and direct the work of subordinate employees
  • Ability to train others in procedures and use of equipment
  • Ability to update AutoCAD and other Autodesk CAD software libraries with appropriate graphics documentation
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Can read and interpret engineering drawing and specifications
  • Computer skills including: spreadsheets, word processing, project scheduling, and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge in contract administration
  • Knowledge of asbestos management plans
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or other AutoDesk Software (REVIT/BIM) or similar
  • Knowledge of building codes and related regulations
  • Knowledgeable in health and safety regulations (CDPHE, EPCDOH, etc)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Colorado Driver's License - Department of Revenue - Division of Motor Vehicles
  • Up to 3 Years Designing and creating project specifications and documentation for projects of various sizes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 Years of Project Management Experience with Facilities and/or Construction Related Projects
  • LEED experience

Minimum Compensation:

$53,750.00
