Facilities Technician / Custodian

Position Title: Facilities Technician/Custodian

Term of Employment: Full-time/12 Months   

Salary Range: $31,200 - $43,680 DOE

Summary:

The Facilities Technician/Custodian will complete basic and routine maintenance tasks, deliver and install supplies and equipment across the district, set up and break down rooms, offices and outdoor spaces for meetings and special events, provide cleaning services to the JTED offices and classrooms as needed.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

●       Cleans, vacuums, and dusts offices and classrooms

●       Removes trash from offices and classrooms

●       Cleans bathrooms, and keeps them stocked

●       Cleans kitchen areas and assists staff with maintaining appliances

●       Cleans and washes windows

●       Assists with setting up rooms for meetings and special events as needed

●       Provides minimal maintenance to outside areas

●       Able to safely access roof, etc. for inspections, maintenance, and repairs

●       Performs basic painting, drywall repair, installation of HVAC filters, replace and install light bulbs, faucet and sink drain service as needed

●       Assists with the monitoring and adjusting of HVAC temps throughout the district as needed

●       Delivers and transports supplies and equipment to programs throughout district

●       Must observe safety procedures and proper use of equipment, materials and products

●       Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications/Skills/Abilities/Education and/or Experience:

●       High School diploma or equivalent required

●       Must have the ability to kneel, squat, bend, stoop, crawl, pull, twist, bend, climb, and lift with one or both arms above shoulder level

●       Ability to lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds

●       Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year round

●       Able to climb extension ladders

●       Skilled in the use of basic hand tools

●       Comfortable with basic computer skills

●       Ability to communicate effectively

●       Minimum three years experience in maintenance, grounds and/or custodial services preferred

●       MMR immunization (unless born prior to January 1, 1957)

●       Current negative TB test (within the last year)

●       Must pass a criminal background check

●       Valid Arizona Driver’s license
