The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at Grand Canyon University is seeking a full time Faculty member for Foundations. Imagine being a dynamic educator, guiding nursing students through the journey of learning and becoming a competent future nurse. Your role involves teaching one or more subjects using a designed curriculum, making the learning process engaging and enjoyable for students. You'll infuse real life case scenarios that broaden students' perspectives. In skills lab setting you will foster critical thinking among students and during clinical rotations you'll walk along side them as they gain valuable experience. Location: 10484 W. Thunderbird Boulevard, Sun City. Clinical rotations in Greater Phoenix Area

Schedule: Monday thru Friday 7:30am-4:30pm, Clinical rotations may be 8-12 hours

What you will do:

  • Reinforce didactic content and teach in the context of the clinical and lab application of knowledge and skills related to pre licensure Nursing.
  • Collaborates with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical and lab objectives.
  • Participate in grading written and Clinical/Lab performance check-offs.
  • Preserve lines of communication with program faculty and director including attendance in select faculty meetings.
  • Remain current with new trends and development in the specific field of nursing practice
  • Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
  • Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University.
  • Requires travel to student clinical sites to directly observe student performance

What you will need:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Unencumbered AZ RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in medical/surgical, long term care, and/or skilled nursing.
  • An active, current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Nevada.
  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
  • Evidence of involvement in ones professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications).
  • Must successfully pass a drug test.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and preceptors.
  • Participation in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
