Family/ Parent Partner (Chula Vista)

compensation: starting $22 an hour with room for increase based on work performance.

New Alternatives, Inc. is a private nonprofit agency that has provided a wide range of services to children, youth and families in San Diego and Orange Counties since 1978. Therapeutic services include residential, outpatient, day treatment, crisis support and in home support services.

New Alternatives, Inc. is committed to providing Trauma Informed Care principles throughout our agency. Candidates should have knowledge and/or desire in assisting the agency carry out this culture.

Crisis Action & Connection Program (CAC) is a crisis intervention bridge program. CAC receives referrals from ESU, PERT, MCRT, and Children’s psychiatric hospitals. CAC works with kids ages 6-18 and their families to help minimize the crisis and connect them to long term mental health services. CAC provides individual and family therapy as well as case management services and rehab services. Services are conducted either in the home, school, or CAC office. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Family/ Parent Support Partner

  • Fast paced, Crisis Care Outpatient Mental Health Clinic
  • Full time
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Firsthand experience as consumer, parent of consumer of mental health services required for this position. Experience in field helpful.
  • Hours vary but typically 10-6:30 or 11-7:30, Monday -Friday depending on appointments and need of families.
  • Position provides supportive partnership with parents navigating the use of services in the Schools , IEP process and community resources.
  • Knowledge of those systems is helpful.

Some skill building, psycho-education, and rehab provided with youth and family.

  • Partnering with Parents/ families a must to assist with accessing services and needed resources.
  • Weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.

Preferred: BA or BS degree in field of Social work, psychology, child development or related field.
