Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Arizonas Outpatient program provides in-home remedial intervention for at-risk youth and families identifying youth and family strengths and needs to enhance the Child and Family Team (CFT) planning process. We work with families and youths in their homes, teaching a variety of skills ranging from self-care, household management, living, and social. We are looking for talented individuals who have experience working in Behavioral Health, with families and at-risk youth to be a positive role model and impact on our families!

Located in Tucson, AZ, the Family Support Counselor will be responsible for the coordination of care, treatment planning, service delivery, and case management of our Secondary Responder Program. You will formulate treatment plans, assessments, clinical impression and discharge planning. This role will provide support to clients and placement to help stabilize behavior and avoid disruption throughout a 45 day program. The Family Support Counselor takes recommendations regarding access to care following discharge and will work closely with the Child/Family Team with regard to service delivery.

  • Ongoing dedication bonuses, as well as sign-on bonuses, for direct support professionals (DSP) and other staff members
  • Flexible schedules, remote working where possible, and redeployment between programs and services
  • Hazard pay for those supporting quarantined individuals and shelter away services to frontline staff, when needed, to mitigate spread to families
  • Advancing paid time off and sick time; eliminating telemedicine costs over a period of time

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related Human Services field required OR Five (5) years of experience in human services field in lieu of degree
  • Experience working with multi-problem families
  • Experience in cultural diversity, substance abuse, domestic violence, crisis intervention, effects of child abuse and neglect on child development, sexual abuse, mediation, and other interventions preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse group
  • Have problem-solving abilities
  • Aability to relate well to families of varied lifestyles, backgrounds, and ethnicities

OTHER:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidates understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
  • Ability to attend full time, paid, New Hire Orientation Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
