DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Farming Machinery/Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety offarming machinery and equipment to maintain the operation of the Agriculture Program. Farming activitiesinclude tillage work, planting and harvesting various crops. Performs daily preventative maintenance repairs onequipment and machinery as assigned and maintains daily activity, maintenance, and fuel log. The position isprimarily to perform farming duties under various field conditions and hours depending on work schedule, that
will enable services to Community members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
OOperate a variety of farming machinery and equipment, to maintain operations of the Agriculture Program, to
include tillage work, planting and harvesting, per calendar year.Perform daily prestart checks and minor preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to include
general cleaning and lubrication on a daily basis.Perform service at regularly scheduled intervals on smaller equipment, to include monthly oil changes and
filter replacements.Perform minor annual and periodic repairs of equipment to include replacing worn parts, nuts, bolts, and
adjustments.Responsible for performing annual and periodic major repairs of equipment and implements that requires
welding, tire replacements, hydraulic hose fabrication and replacement, diesel electric service, and tool
fabrication.Maintain daily and monthly records of agricultural machinery and equipment fuel, maintenance, and daily
usage.Responsible for notifying supervisory personnel of the need of regular, preventative, or emergency
maintenance on all machinery and equipment.Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment (including transporting equipment, handling materials
and supplies, and ensuring work area is clear of any hazardous risks)Perform duties under various field and weather conditions; will be required to work various hours (including
long hours) depending on the work and seasonal schedules on a calendar basis.
0 Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:I Considerable knowledge of farming machinery/equipment operations.I Considerable knowledge of safety procedures and occupational hazards in the operation of the farming
machinery/equipment.I Considerable knowledge and experience of farm activities (tillage work, planting and harvesting various
crops).I Ability to properly load, transport and unload machinery/equipment, supplies and materials.I Ability to address problems and identify solutions that can affect the work activities for this position.I Ability to work independently with minimal to little supervision.I Ability to understand operation manuals, directions, and instructions.I Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Officials
and the public.I Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED and three (3) years experience in the operation and maintenance of various farmingmachinery/equipment.ADDITIONAL RE! 2UIREMENTS:Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving record
for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record must be
submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission of the
