Position Summary

The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking to hire a Fellowship Coordinator (Medical Education Program Coord). This is a unique positionin that it will be overseeing two Divisional Fellowship Program's: InfectiousDiseases and Rheumatology. The Divisions are an academically oriented anddedicated to excellence in education, patient care and research. The Divisions both trains fellows, residents,and medical students. The ID Divisiontrains in the area of adult Infectious Diseases and the Rheumatology Divisiontrains in the area of Rheumatology. Thisperson will serve as the educational liaison/coordinator for the educationalprogram for two Divisions and function as administrative support for fellowsand Program Directors within each division. Duties will include working with and coordinating an educationaltraining program, and interacting with faculty and fellows. Experience with scheduling and organizingeducational training would be helpful. Experience with on-call and clinic schedules; Banner and MyReports; and time keeper experiencefor Faculty and Fellows. The position isresponsible for documenting all ACGME requirements and benchmarks and willcompile information and tracking data necessary for reporting and othercompliance data requirements. The successful candidate will have exceptionallystrong computer, communication and organizational skills. The Fellowship Coordinator will work directlywith Program Director's and Associate Program Director's to develop innovativepractices to improve the fellowship programs.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with academic training program administrationand New Innovations software and ERAS.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability tohandle multiple complex components of a large academic fellowship program.
  • Experience with travel arrangements andknowledge of UNM policies.
  • Current P-Card holder and experience with Banner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a teamenvironment coordinating activities between multiple internal and externalDepartments.
Additional Requirements Must be available to work evenings or weekend during recruitment season.
