IDEAL CANDIDATES:

What we look for in a Field Interviewer.

We are looking for outgoing and engaging people who have a background conducting field interviews, comfortable interacting with preschool age children, collecting data, providing customer service, working in restaurants, retail stores, or any type of sales positions, and/or other public facing employment. If you are self-motivated, like to speak with all kinds of different people, and share our commitment to objective, high-quality research, then you can help us make meaningful contributions that impact our nation.

You will be instrumental in helping NORC make sure our study participants voices are heard.

We are passionate about giving people a chance to share their opinions and experiences so that our clients and the public can be informed and make decisions based on the highest quality data we can provide. NORCs field interviewing team makes this possible.

As a Field Interviewer, you will call and visit people at their place of residence, introduce them to NORC and the study you are assigned to, and then complete an interview with them. Some of these people will have experiences and opinions similar to your own. Others will have different perspectives. By giving each person a chance to participate, being a careful listener, and applying the interviewing techniques you will learn in training, you will help make sure the data we collect from each person is accurate. As you give people a chance to be heard, it will give you a sense of pride and achievement in knowing that the work you do for NORC contributes to our high standards for quality and objectivity for which we are known in the research industry.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE DENVER PRESCHOOL PROJECT:

Interviewers on the Denver Preschool Project will play a role in conducting vocabulary, early literacy and math assessments with preschool age children in Denver, Colorado. Interviewers will also work collaboratively with school staff and students to coordinate scheduling and interviewing of the students who will be assessed.

TRAINING AND WORK SCHEDULES:

Work is part-time, temporary, and flexible.

Generally, you will work 20-25 hours per week. Most interviewers work 2-3 weekdays during school hours (usually between 8 AM and 6 PM). The most effective interviewers devote 4-6 hours to NORC on the days they work. If you can meet the expectations of this timetable, then you can set your own schedule.

We expect the work to begin on October 3, 2022 and continue through the spring of 2023.

REQUIREMENTS FOR FIELD INTERVIEWERS:

NORC will require proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 before you begin work in the field. Employees will receive a $500 sign-on bonus after providing proof of full vaccination against COVID.

Present evidence of identity and authorization to work in the United States (I-9 documentation).

Attend paid online training sessions.

Have a High School diploma or equivalent.

Ability to carry a tablet, survey documents, and supplies.

The starting pay for this position is $18.25 and the pay range is from $18.25-$24.76.
