Job Description

The Parking and Transit Services Department is seeking a Field Operations Supervisor to help manage parking operations in the areas of customer service, maintenance, enforcement, monitoring and reporting. This position provides leadership while coordinating work activities of assigned staff, and subcontracted personnel during special events. The Field Operations Supervisor develops and monitors work schedules, performance measures, and prepares reports for assigned area. 

 

Salary Range

$36,360 - $39,500 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

·        Oversees daily parking operation of assigned facilities by walking, observing the premises; monitoring access and activity; ensures staffing levels are appropriate for anticipated activity, special events, etc. 

·       Responds to or assists with customer inquiries, complaints or concerns via written correspondence, electronic media, in person and telephone calls.

·       Supervises assigned Customer Service Specialists staff to include time administration duties ensuring accurate and timely report of hours worked; assists with other operational areas and related staff as needed. 

·       Communicates effectively with daytime operations Field Operations Supervisor(s) and staff.

·       Participates in department team and leadership meetings. 

·       Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing.

·       Uses a computer and various office equipment; two-way radio and assigned parking equipment.

·       Routinely checks and helps maintain parking equipment; conducts minor repairs as needed.

·       Helps maintain signage inventory by ordering materials for required signage and assists in producing signage when necessary.

·       Prepare invoices; orders and maintains necessary supplies (e.g. ticket stock, cleaning, sanitizer, etc). 

·       Prepares and reconciles funds collected according to department revenue handling and university policies (follows contactless, electronic procedures).

·       Prepares after-action reports to facilitate operational improvements and efficiencies.

·       Administers PTS and university policies fairly and consistently.

·       Assists in staff recruitment to include processing request for hires, screening applicants, participating in the interviewing process for full time and student staff.

·       Attends training opportunities to enhance job performance and increase knowledge of university policies and departmental operations. Ensures the same for assigned staff. 

·       Completes and updates Operations Manuals. 

·       Creates and updates electronic forms.

·       Drives Arizona State University leased, owned or rented vehicles and carts to various ASU locations to perform work. 

·       Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Days and Schedule: 2:30pm – 11:30pm Wednesday – Sunday. Alternative hours may be necessary with advanced notice depending on operational needs. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be mandatory based on scheduling. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of clerical and administrative or related experience which includes one year lead experience and one year field operations experience; OR, Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field AND two years of related experience, which included one year supervision experience AND one year field operations experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

·       Experience in ASU Parking operations.

·       Experience with T2 PARCS system, equipment.

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

·       1-3 years supervisory experience.

·       1-3 years of direct event experience.

·       Previous cash handling.

·       Experience as a Department Time Administrator.

·       Experience with all aspects of recruitment.

·       Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills including the accurate use of grammar and spelling.

·       Excels to provide quality customer service interaction with the general public.

·       Evident experience in maintaining accurate records.

·       A valid US Driver’s License; an MVR check will be conducted.

 

Working Environment

·       Works in extreme weather conditions in an outdoor setting subject to cold, extreme heat, and/or rainy weather.

·       Some activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.

·       Uses office equipment.

·       Regularly lifts up to 35 pounds.

·       Walks and stands for extensive periods of time.

·       Drives an ASU vehicle, or golf cart, getting in and out of the vehicle.

·       Adhere to all University Safety policies.

·       Adhere and enforce the department employee parking, cash handling and attendance policies.

·       Employee must possess a valid US Driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.

·       This position is located at the ASU Tempe Campus.
