FOOD AND NUTRITION SPECIALIST: Under the supervision of the Operations Manager of the Valencia office, the Food and Nutrition Specialist will provide all services related to menu and meal production for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree and two (2) years experience in either child nutrition program; or any combination of education and experience equal to four years. MUST be Bi-lingual (Spanish) as 27% of clients/providers are only Spanish speaking. Must have strong computer skills. Must be able to operate all modern office machines. Ability to deal effectively with the public. Must e able to follow and carry out written instructions quickly and accurately.
JOB CHARACTERISTICS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is a professional position, which requires organizational and communication skills, as well a judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with Head Start employees, community residents, parents, vendors and government agencies. Strict adherence is required to all regulations concerning confidentiality.
Good general health and ability to lift and carry 55 lbs are essential. Must be able to stand, walk, bend and lift moderate to heavy loads. Fingerprint process and under the skin TB Skin Test are required. An initial physical exam is required and then periodically thereafter.
Frequent travel is required by employee and proof of satisfactory car insurance is required.
