    POSITION DESCRIPTION: Food Service II: Baker/Cook
    Grade: I
    Work Calendar: 10-month (195 Days)
    Hours per Day: 7


    1. General Description:
    The Baker/Cook will prepare and serve nutritious, cost-effective and high quality meals/baked items to students and staff in a clean environment.The Baker/Cook will support the National School Breakfast Program (SBP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), catered events, and the AFUHSD Food Service Program.
    1. Qualifications:
    1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    2. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with administration, staff, parents, and students.
    3. Must be able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize functions to meet constantly changing job conditions.
    4. Must possess excellent customer service skills.
    5. Must have the ability to read and write instructions, standardized recipes, and production sheets.
    6. Must possess two years of experience assisting in a commercial cooking or baking operation.
    7. Must have knowledge of cooking practices, methods, and food service equipment.
    8. Must follow appropriate dress code to meet health standards.
    9. Must be in good health and have ability to lift up to 30 pounds, stoop, bend, stand and reach.
    1. Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Perform all duties of food service worker/baker/cook/cashier in a competent and efficient manner.
    2. Maintain punctual and regular attendance
    3. Attend additional training workshops as available
    4. Prepare a wide variety of hot dishes for student and faculty with attractive presentation.
    5. Adjust recipes as required.
    6. Prepare baked goods.
    7. Maintain an accurate inventory.
    8. Assist manager in all catering events.
    9. Knowledge and understanding of the National School Lunch Program, standardized recipes, production sheets and maintain portion control.
    10. Comply with all Governing Board Policies and Regulations, Maricopa County Health Codes, National School Lunch Program guidelines, and Agua Fria Union High School District Food Service Policies.
    11. Comply with School Safety Manual Rules and Regulations and OSHA requirements.
    12. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues.
    13. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community.
    14. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
    15. Perform other related duties and assigned.
