    POSITION DESCRIPTION: Food Service III
    Grade: H
    Work Calendar: 10-month
    Hours per Day: 7


    I. General Description:

    Provides leadership cafeteria staff and acts as manager in the Cafeteria Managers absence. To effectively prepare and serve nutritious meals to students and staff in a cost-effective, high quality and clean environment.

    II. Qualifications:
    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Post high school training in supervision and/or management experience preferred.
    3. Experience with kitchen equipment and cafeteria operations.
    4. Must have mathematical ability to work with monies and operate cash register and related business machines as requested.
    5. Possess the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
    6. Able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize functions to meet constantly changing job conditions.
    7. Good health-physically able to lift 30 pounds, bend, stand and reach.
    8. Must comply with Safety Rules and Regulations and OSHA requirements.
    9. Must possess County Certification for food manager (renewed every 3 years).
    10. Ability to work harmoniously with students, parents and staff.
    11. Understanding and compliance with National School Lunch Program regulations.

    III. Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Can perform all duties of Food Service Worker in a competent and efficient manner.
    2. Assigns verbally and in writing, work assignments and production plans prepared by the manager if the manager is not on site.
    3. Assists with special events and catering.
    4. Serves as Cafeteria Manager in managers absence.
    5. Effectively communicates job tasks and functions to staff.
    6. Able to perform all computer functions as required.
    7. Must follow appropriate dress code to meet health standards.
    8. Assists with daily collections and cash deposits.
    9. Facilitates training for new employees and/or job functions.
    10. Attend additional training workshops as available.
    11. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues.
    12. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community.
    13. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner
    14. Performs other related duties as assigned.
