Salary: $16.65 - $22.48 Hourly
$34,632.00 - $46,758.40 Annually
Salary Information: Offering salary will be made between the minimum to midpoint of the posted salary range for this position, based on qualifications and experience. Employees may progress through the full salary range, subject to their successful performance and annual budget approval.
Under general supervision, monitors Casino activities to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Community gaming laws and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:

Experience equivalent to one-year full time investigation, regulatory, or closely related work. Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license/certification from the State of Arizona Department of Gaming and/or the Ak-Chin Indian Community Agency prior to beginning work. Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's License and be able to meet the Community's insurance carrier requirements (see list on website).
Examples of Duties:
  • Monitors casino floor, observing customers and employees to ensure compliance with the Compact, Gaming Code, Gaming Commission Regulations, and approved Casino internal controls; writes incident reports of any violations; monitors customers and employees to ensure no cheating or illegal gaming devices are allowed; counsels and/or writes up employees for procedural violations.
  • Monitors money transfers; observes cash drop procedures; controls keys to secured areas; monitors use of keys for EPROM chips, observes EPROM chip changes and prepares appropriate documents for the changes; checks log of key control board to ensure keys are all accounted for; monitors log sheet for key usage; monitors customer behavior.
  • Monitors surveillance activities to ensure compliance with established policies/procedures; conduct investigations of patron disputes, possible violations of policy/procedure, and/or violation of Compact provisions; verifies jackpots; assists patrons and answers general questions regarding gaming regulations, policies, and procedures; escorts State Gaming Agency personnel when inspections occur and performs other duties as they relate to the job.

Other Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Tribal gaming regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Ak-Chin Indian Community Gaming Compact.
  • Knowledge of Casino internal controls and operational procedures.
  • Knowledge of documentation/record keeping principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of monitoring techniques for possible illegal gaming practices and devices.
  • Knowledge of surveillance equipment and its usage.
  • Knowledge of public relations/customer service practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of general security practices and procedures.
  • Skill in written and oral communication necessary for documentation, reporting incidents, explanation of practices, policies and procedures to upper management, customers, employees and regulatory agencies.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Federal, State, and Tribal regulatory agencies, upper management, co-workers, and the general public.
  • Skill in mingling with customers and employees on the floor in order to monitor disruptive behaviors or cheating.
  • Skill in observing employees and customers for compliance with gaming regulations.
  • Skill in observing/monitoring employees to ensure compliance with internal controls, and management practices and procedures.
  • Skill in applying customer service/public relations in responding to customer and employee inquiries and/or complaints.
  • Skill in investigating incidents and complaints.
