What Success Looks Like In This Job
- Report to the Programs Supervisor.
- Adhere to policy, procedures, and post orders.
- Attend required trainings and practice safety/security awareness.
- Utilize effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, written, listening)
- Provide professional customer service.
- Promote a positive team atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with immediate supervisor, co-workers, and other jail staff.
- Work closely with and take direction from the Programs Supervisor and GED Instructors.
- Must be certified as a Pearson Vue GED Proctor or be able to obtain certification upon being hired.
- Certification can take place at the Adams County Detention Facility test center.
- Must be able to learn the Pearson Vue software and work independently with the software.
- Testing takes place in-person with the inmates present in the room (no virtual testing).
- Work approximately 16 hours per week.
- Work with inmates of all ages and classifications (male and female).
- Prepare reports/statements when necessary.
- Work with inmates of varying abilities and cultural backgrounds.
- Provide structure in the classroom for testing, while also being supportive and encouraging.
