This position is located at the Saint Anne's Hospital Southern New England Surgery Center in Attleboro MA. Founded in 2007, The Southern New England Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art outpatient surgical center provoding hig-quality surgical care and a wide variety of minimally invasive options.

General Maintenance Person

Position Summary

Primary responsibilities include keeping the physical plant and mechanical systems of the hospital and satellite buildings in reliable operation and good repair. Performs planned and preventative maintenance on typical mechanical plant systems and equipment. Performs maintenance duties at the main hospital complex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building Upkeep
  • Establishes and accomplishes preventative maintenance schedules
  • Prioritizes repair and maintenance work to minimize disruption of operations
  • Oversees repairs, renovations and construction
  • Serves as liaison between hospital contractors and occupants in conjunction with the Director of Facilities
  • Maintains and monitors inventory of all owned furnishings and equipment
  • Inspects inventories on a regular basis
  • Secures vendors to repair furnishings, as appropriate
  • Inspects building and grounds to insure compliance with established standards and regulations including DPH, Local Building Departments, OSHA and other regulatory agencies
  • Obtains appropriate licenses, as needed
  • Responds to emergencies and coordinates corrective efforts
  • Secures and updates blueprints for each satellite building, as necessary
  • Assists Director, as needed
  • Furnishes information and assistance to hospital, as needed
  • Performs routine or project work at the Hospital
  • Orients and involves the Director on outstanding issues
  • Coordinates and assists with snow removal
  • Coordinates and sets up programs or outside functions at other facilities (fairs, Christmas decorations, tree lighting)
  • Assures the satellites are clean and presentable as assigned
  • Performs daily inspections of satellites as assigned
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Understanding of mechanical systems as well as individual equipment.
  • Interpersonal and negotiation skills

Education/Experience/Licensure/Technical/Other

  1. Education: High School diploma or equivalent required
  2. Experience: Minimum of five to seven years experience in Facilities Management preferred
  3. Certification/Licensure: Valid Drivers License in good standing.
