Responsibilities

This is a senior accountant level position that will be responsible for major construction project audit, construction costs and other capital expense projects. In addition, the position will be involved in various other general accounting functions. This position will report to the Vice President of Finance.

  • Oversight with project budget maintenance and project budget variance analysis and commentary
  • Facilitate project audits
  • Maintain organized project contract files & creating and entering POs for executed contracts
  • Review sub-contractors' statements & Subcontractor compliance includes setting up subcontractor files, tracking insurance, etc.
  • Participate in on-demand project / cost reviews to discuss project status and provide financial information and support for project / cost reviews
  • Coordinate subcontractor invoices and payments per contract terms and enter in the system
  • Review project labor and expense charges with Project Managers for accuracy and appropriateness
  • Analyze projects; generate job costing reports to provide meaningful input to project teams and office management
  • Interact with clients and vendors in a professional, courteous manner
  • Monitor and support monthly requirements including month-end close, financial and variance reports, WIP schedules and Cost to Complete estimates.
  • Prepares all periodic financial control reports such as payroll analysis, general ledger, month-end accounting, etc. in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform audits as required to insure security of all manufacturing assets. Analyzes operating costs in detail and recommends action to increase profitability and enhance long-term return on investment.
  • Promote clear understanding of financial key figures and costing, including organizing training sessions for non-specialists.
  • Develops and implements controls, procedures and systems necessary to ensure the safeguard of company assets.
  • Complete various required project reports for the Construction team.
  • All other duties as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree preferred and construction accounting or fixed assets accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Support Gaming License

  • Able to work independently with great attention to detail
  • Possess effective skills for managing projects and making business decisions

  • Basic to Intermediate computer knowledge and experience required
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of audits performed.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays when needed.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
